Food delivery is totally okay for a date night-but make sure it’s from your favorite place!
"Spend some quality time cooking together, and your stove won’t be the only thing getting hot"- Jaime Buerger
It’s easy just getting lost into our cell phones once we get home. Exhausted, hungry, and Netflix-addicted, we immediately resort to ordering in from the couch and scrolling through Instagram other than turning towards each other by cooking together!
Cooking together at home helps you stay in the present, actively listen to one another, and actually empowers you on your quest for a common goal: a delicious meal, of course.
Put your teamwork to the test and start with some of our favorite low maintenance dishes. Check out the aphrodisiac-y route of Steak, Oysters, Mussels, Fondue, Vegan sushi, and Molten Chocolate cake from our favorite FOOD52. We think you’ll love to cook together!
Buttermilk Waffles
Say good morning to these delicious buttermilk waffles! Start the day by surprising your boo with waffles in bed! You can pair them with your favorite cup of coffee, or even go for a mimosa.

Grilled (or Broiled) Oysters with a Sriracha Lime Butter
Oysters and Champagne are a classic pairing for a perfect date night at home! We prefer our oysters raw with minimal embellishment, sometimes a grilled oyster is a nice change.
Tips: We recommend buying fresh oysters from your local seafood market, Whole Foods could be a good option as well. Ask to see the bag tag and examine the harvest date as well as making sure none of the oysters are open. Shucker knife is required.

Mussels Dijonnaise
This is just the perfect kind of light seafood dish! We love the intensity of the spices, aromatics, and how quickly it goes from the stove to the table. We recommend some good crusty bread to sop up that broth and a glass of crisp white wine.

Rib Eye Steak with Chocolate Stout Pan Sauce

Try our favorite steak recipe that melts in your mouth! Ground coffee, smoked paprika, cumin, ancho chile, and brown sugar form an earthy, flinty rub that smells appealingly of wood smoke. We recommend some roasted carrots on the side.

Michael Field's Fondue
Now this one is for our cheese lovers! The ingredients are minimal – Swiss cheeses, white wine, garlic, and flour. The end result is a beautiful, smooth fondue, with a mild flavor that drips from the bread.
